The Titans have waived quarterback Alex Tanney. Tanney was a surprise on the final 53 man roster, but it was just a matter of time before he was waived to make room for someone else. He spent the first game inactive.
Tanney was waived for Cody Riggs, the cornerback who also initially made the 53 man roster.
Riggs, the former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, played well this preseason and flashed last season, appearing in 11 games. He will provide depth in a spot where the Titans need it, starting this week with the high powered offense of Detroit.
