Titans-Raiders winner and losers

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans offense looked really good last night in Oakland. We got to see both halves of the "exotic smashmouth" we have been hearing so much about. Marcus Mariota and Harry Douglas pulled off a really pretty option play and DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry were out there running "over, 'round, and through" (name that children's show where the theme song says that) Raider's defenders.

The defense, on the other hand, had some pretty big issues- especially in coverage.

Here are some winners and losers from last night's game:

WINNERS

Tajae "All I do is win" Sharpe

1 catch for 60 yards. He showed great concentration on a ball that Marcus Mariota barely got past Sean Smith.

Andre Johnson

Mariota found Johnson on 3 straight plays for 65 yards. The Titans aren't going to throw enough for AJ to get a ton of catches being the 4th receiver, but it is good to know they have some depth at the position.

DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry

The Titans have 2 really good running backs. Murray looks really good this preseason. He is running hard and making guys miss. The same can be said for Henry. Remember when all of those people said he didn't have enough lateral quickness to be good in the NFL? Yeah, those people are idiots.

LOSERS

The starting secondary

Derek Carr threw the ball 18 times for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns. The touchdown to Amari Cooper was really just a great play. Jason McCourty had pretty good coverage, but Carr did pretty much whatever he wanted the rest of the night. It was another rough night for Antwon Blake. The Titans need Perrish Cox back in a bad way.

Any running back not named Murray or Henry

Bishop Sankey didn't get a carry. Say it with me, "HE GONE!" Antonio Andrews, Dexter McCluster and David Cobb combined for 14 yards on 7 carries. You decide who to keep from that group.
