Kendall Wright and Perrish Cox will not travel to Oakland

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Mularkey said after practice today that Kendall Wright and Perrish Cox will not travel with the team to Oakland to take on the Raiders. He did add that he expects both guys to be ready to play in the final preseason game against the Dolphins. We will have to wait and see if that actually happens.

Mularkey also added that Brice McCain will start opposite Jason McCourty at corner with Antwon Blake working as the slot corner. Blake got his shot to start last week and was abused by Cam Newton and the rest of the Carolina Panthers offense. Now McCain will get his chance to show what he can do.

Mularkey loves Harry Douglas, so he was going to make this team anyway, but his spot is even that much more secure since he has been working with the first team as the slot receiver for almost a month now while Wright has been out. It will be interesting to see how long it takes Wright to win back that spot.
