"Did you think the word 'alternative,'
Was only meant for the likes of you?..."
Titans Links!
Something unbelievable happened yesterday: the Titans traded away future HOFer Dorial Green-Beckham to the Philadelphia Eagles! They traded DGB to the Eagles for Offensive Lineman Dennis Kelly. Why DGB? Well inconsistencies spelled out the word D-O-O-M for the second year receiver, and things just didn't seem to be clicking for him. Good luck to him in Philly.
Quick Hit: Mularkey has a soft spot for Dexter McCluster.
Did the DGB trade send a message to other players? Robinson says he wasn't intending to make a statement by trading away DGB, but it certainly did grab Justin Hunter's attention. He was definitely surprised, and feels it sent a message to everyone saying they need to get their stuff right. He acknowledges that everyone is fighting for a roster spot, and that everyone is on the chopping block. Time to step it on up!
Quick Hit: Robinson credits his dad for his trading background.
Alright. Enough DGB crap. Let's check out some stuff from Training Camp. Jim Wyatt gives us some observations from day thirteen. He points out that Byard is continuing to make plays in camp, the receivers and cornerbacks had a one-on-one drill and the receivers came out on top, Orakpo brought a Kona Ice truck to practice, Wyatt lists some injuries, and then caps things off with some tidbits (like Casey taking over as the team's rep for United Way, and Amy Adams Strunk chilling at practice).
Rapid Links!
The Titans are hoping Dodd can play in the third preseason game (Oakland).
The Titans say Dennis Kelly is a good fit.
The Titans move on from the DGB trade.
Photos from yesterday's training camp.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
