Each year we do a series where we project the stats for the skill players on the team. Today we start that series with, who else, Marcus Mariota. I don't make projections because people tell me I skew the results when I do that. What I will do is tally the results. We will then revisit them at the end of the season to how close we were as a community.
So, for today, predict Mariota's passing yards, passing touchdowns, interceptions, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
Mariota's season was cut short last year due to injuries. Hopefully the revamped offensive line will help him stay healthy all year in '16. He ended the season with 2,818 yards passing with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He carried the ball for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns. I will say that it should be safe to take the over in yardage for both of those categories.
