"All my friends are heathens, take it slow,
Wait for them to ask you who you know..."
Andre Johnson visited the Titans yesterday. This can only mean one thing: they are signing him!!!111 (Ok. Not really/necessarily). Paul K doesn't feel a player should just be signed for leadership, but thinks it is a good idea for the Titans to see what Johnson has left in the tank, and to maybe keep him around a little while for the younger guys to sit and emulate. Currently there is not a solid leader for the Wide Receiver group.
Quick Hit: Hunter and Douglas are "on the spot."
Jim Wyatt takes a gander at the Linebackers for his "Training Camp Preview" series. He notes that the Titans have added quite a bit of players for depth (drafted Dodd and Wallace), and that Morgan was a big loss last season when he went out with an injury. Wyatt also says we oughta keep an eye on Mr. Dodd. Dodd had to have foot surgery this off-season, so it remains to be seen if he will have an impact next season or not.
The Titans aren't just talking about making changes...they are actually DOING it, dang it! The Titans have been promising hope and change this off-season, but how can we be so sure it will actually happen? To quote Robinson: "When you shine up a new penny, it's still a penny." Robinson also says that you can talk about changing the culture of a program all you want, but you have to actually DO it too. They have brought in guys that are hard working, and are not divas. The locker room has also shown an embracing of the new culture: tough, dependable (sounds like a truck commercial), and team first.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
