"I love it when you call me Big Pop-pa,
Throw your hands in the air, if youse a true player..."
Titans Links!
Let's wrap up the week with another wide receiver article! Justin Hunter once had to wear a "JAG" jersey. It was done to remind him that he is "just another guy," and was supposed to somehow make him a better receiver. Well Jefferson sucked, and is gone, and now Mularkey is taking a different approach: telling Hunter he is capable of being a great receiver. He is pushing Hunter and encouraging him and helping him gain confidence in himself as a player. Mularkey wants him to succeed, and wants him to know he is on his side.
Quick Hit: Penalty punishments are a must for the Titans.
The Titans are looking to build another player's confidence up as well. Blidi Wreh-Wilson was once a starter on the team. Now he is just trying to basically stay on the team. Mularkey and company are putting him in situations that they know he struggles with, and are using these situations as teaching opportunities. Will these teaching opportunities sink in, and lead to better play? Will building a player's confidence help them improve? I guess we will have to wait and find out.
Quick Hit: Jim Wyatt gives us three quick observations from OTAs this week.
Derrick Morgan is hype to get back on the field. He hasn't been cleared to participate in camp yet, but he is feeling good. He loves being back on the field. He loves the camaraderie and chemistry that is built with fellow players, and he can't wait to be back on the field with them working toward a common goal. I'm pumped to have him back. The pass rush suuuuuucked when he went out last season.
Quick Rookie Links!
He may be "Mr. Irrelevant," but he isn't Mr. Invisible.
Kevin Byard is the last rookie waiting to be signed.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
