The Quest For The Greatest Titan: McNair vs. Bishop

Our first matchup of round 2.

The final matchup of round 1 was a blowout. Luckily, that was the last time that we will come across such a lopsided matchup. Today's matchup officially marks the beginning of round 2. Looking at some of these matchups, and potential ones in the quarterfinal, I am starting to get really excited about what the fanbase will decide. However, before we get ahead of ourselves, we must first begin round 2, with a matchup between two former teammates:

(1) Steve McNair: It was no surprise that Steve McNair blew through round 1. He beat Alterraun Verner out almost unanimously. McNair just about checks off all of the boxes when it comes to being the ultimate Tennessee Titan. His statistics, leadership, MVP award, amazing comebacks, and toughness will all carry him very far. He is one of the favorites to win the overall tournament, and if he did get beaten out by someone, it would be an extraordinarily tough out.

(4) Blaine Bishop: On the other hand, Blaine Bishop had a closer matchup than Steve McNair in round 1. He had a similar career to Cortland FInnegan, which made it such an intriguing case. However, the team-wide success was what ended up giving Bishop the edge. When you think about Bishop and McNair, you think about the early 2000's Titans teams, and you think about passion. They were both the leaders of their respective units, and played with fire each week. The two players were extremely vital to the early success of the franchise, and will always be fan favorites.

My vote: While this matchup has a closer gap between the two players than McNair's last matchup, this one is still a slam dunk. Steve McNair should advance to the quarterfinals easily.
