The Titans have the youngest offensive line in the league

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

One.cool.customer of Blogging the Boys put together a really good post about the average age of offensive lines around the NFL. The Titans average age on the offensive line is 23.8. Here is how the five projected starters across the line look:

Taylor Lewan (24) -Quinton Spain (24) - Ben Jones (26) - Chance Warmack (24) - Jack Conklin (21)

Here is how the rest of the league looks in a table that I *ahem* borrowed *ahem* from OCC:

Rank Team Tot. Age Rank Team Tot. Age Rank Team Tot. Age
1 TEN 23.8 12 DAL 26.6 23 PIT 28.2
2 DET 25.1 13 TB 26.6 24 BAL 28.2
3 SEA 25.2 14 SF 26.6 25 OAK 28.5
4 IND 25.4 15 NE 26.6 26 SD 28.9
5 LA 25.7 16 CAR 26.8 27 CIN 29.1
6 KC 25.7 17 HOU 27.1 28 NYJ 29.3
7 CHI 25.8 18 WAS 27.1 29 MIN 29.3
8 MIA 26.1 19 JAC 27.3 30 ARI 29.3
9 NYG 26.4 20 GB 27.5 31 ATL 29.5
10 NO 26.4 21 CLE 27.6 32 PHI 29.8
11 DEN 26.4 22 BUF 27.9

OCC used the Ourlands depth charts to get those numbers.

Seeing that it is currently May 20th, a lot of this will change before the season opens. For the Titans, the only position that is in question is right guard. You will see either Spain, Brian Schwenke or Sebastian Tretola as the starter there (Poutasi will be in the mix, but he won't win the job). Whoever ends up being the starter there won't change the average age very much. Schwenke is the oldest player in that group at 25.

Having the youngest offensive line in the league is nice, but it doesn't mean anything if the guys can't play. Hopefully this is the year that the group up front finally comes together and becomes a strength for the team.
