Between the Posts: A sad day for Big Blue Nation

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Each day I will look at the top 5 trends on Twitter and write about them. Hopefully that will spur some discussion with you the reader here on the site. This could lead to some touchy subjects, but hey, what isn't a touchy subject these days? Also, if the trend is something I know nothing about I am not going to do any research on it. I am going to write about what I think it is. Should be fun.

Here are today's top trends in Nashville:

Marques Bolden

You already know who this is if you follow college basketball. Bolden chose Duke over Kentucky today. It's hard to blame him there. John Calipari is one slimy dude.

I guess this is a place where I pick something to be honest about. Here goes: Some little league umpires are the worst. I am coaching two of my sons this year and some of the guys out there calling games have no desire to put in the effort to do a good job. Then I get mad at them and say something. Then they hate me for the rest of the year, but it is really their own fault for being terrible. I don't argue about close calls. Those are tough and they are human, but when they don't know the rules or make no effort to get in position to make a call, it makes me angry. #ifImbeinghonest.

Morley Safer

Safer was a staple on 60 minutes and he passed away today.

I assume we are referring to the TV show here. They wouldn't need the hashtag if more people watched the show #ifImhonest

Thinking about all of the things that I could type here is making me laugh...but the former MCM writer Jordan Churchill wouldn't be my friend anymore #ifImhonest

Planes disappearing is absolutely horrifying to me. #ifImhonest
