"All around me are familiar faces,
Worn out places, worn out faces..."
Titans Links!
Tajae Sharpe is prepared to play some football. The dude even showed up to mini-camp last Friday with his own football. He says he is a man who likes to play football, so he wants to always have one in his hands. The dude even sleeps with his football (#NotThatTheresAnythingWRONGWithThat). You do have to admire the dude's commitment. It would be great if he develops into a great receiver for us. We definitely need one.
Yesterday we learned the Zach Mettenberger era(?) was coming to an end. The team waived The Mett Show on Monday, and now he must move on to greener pastures. I'm not really all that shocked that he was released. He couldn't get us wins when the games were in his hands (yes I understand there were other factors that went into that, blah blah blah), and the signing of Matt Cassel also seemed to point to his time here coming to an end. Goodbye, Mett, and good luck.
Quick Mett Links!
The Titans waived Mettenberger along with some other players.
Mettenberger almost has no chance with another team.
The Titans missed the window when Mett had trade value.
Paul K wonders why Titans fans embrace so many mediocre players. He thought about this after news broke about Mett getting waived, and he began seeing a bevy of twitter followers reacting to the news with such disdain for the organization. Paul wonders if the previous regime held onto mediocre players in the past because they knew the fans loved and rooted for these underdogs.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
