Jason Cole, who has never gotten anything right when it comes to the Titans, claims he has 2 sources that have told him the San Francisco 49ers have talked with the Tennessee Titans about a trade for the #1 pick. The 49ers have the 7th pick in the first round and are presumably looking to draft a quarterback.
As you probably know, the 49ers have a significant amount of money tied up in Colin Kaepernick, who they are reportedly trying to trade to the Denver Broncos.
This is the second year in a row that a team coached by Chip Kelly is rumored to want the Titans pick. You might remember there was a little bit of speculation last year that the Eagles were going to try and trade up to draft Marcus Mariota.
According to the Jimmy Johnson draft chart, the first pick is worth 3,000 points. The 7th pick is worth 1500 points. That means it would probably take the #7, #37 the 49ers 2017 first round pick, and probably at least one more pick to make a deal happen. I'd be all in for that.
But we need 2 disclaimers here:
#1 Cole never gets anything right on the Titans
#2 You can't believe anything you hear this time of year
