Day one of the draft is in the books, and the Titans moved up some spots to nab Offensive Tackle Jack Conklin with their first pick in the draft. Welcome to the team Jack! I love that the guy fell in love with Tennessee and didn't want to play anywhere else. He believes Tennessee is a great fit for him, and he loves the type of football they are wanting to play: hard-nosed and physical. He wants players to remember they played against him. He wants to maul defenders. I love the things he has to say. Again: Welcome to the team!
The Titans nabbed Conklin at number eight overall, but they aren't immediately tabbing him as their Right Tackle. There will be open competition for him to play Left Tackle (but I'd assume he will be on the Right end when it's all said and done #BookIt). There is also hope that his attitude infects the line. He prides himself on being a mauler, and prides himself on being that type of player during each game he plays. Robinson wants guys who are tough, accountable, and team-first. He feels Conklin embodies that to the Nth degree.
