2016 NFL Draft: Mel Kiper on the Titans trade

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Mel Kiper of ESPN broke down both sides of today's trade between the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams.  Here is part of what he had to say about the Titans side of the deal:

Tennessee now has six of the top 76 picks in this draft, plus two first-rounders next year and two third-rounders next year.....That's a ton of draft stock, and it allows general manager Jon Robinson the chance to significantly upgrade his roster or maneuver at will in the draft. Give the Titans credit here. They leveraged the fact that Cleveland also needs to draft a quarterback at some point -- with the No. 2 pick obviously in play -- and were able to auction the opportunity to get one of the top two quarterbacks and drive a high price.

So Ken Whisenhunt might have been the best thing that ever happened to the Titans. He made them terrible in a year that allowed them to get Marcus Mariota and got fired the next year that led to them trading the #1 overall pick for a nice return. They could completely turn this franchise around if Jon Robinson does well with the picks.
