Peter King appears to be pretty plugged in to what is going on in the Titans' front office*. He said in his MMQB today that the Titans have a "definite solid" offer for the first pick in the draft. King speculates that the offer comes from the Eagles who currently hold the 8th pick.
There is a lot of noise around the first pick. That means there is either a lot of legitimate interest in the first pick or Jon Robinson is the GOAT smokescreen generator. It is too early to tell which one it is.
The issue with moving back to 8 is that the real blue chip players in this draft are the top 5 prospects, according to Terry Lambert. Now when you consider the fact that there will probably be 2 quarterbacks taken with the first two picks, that does leave a chance that one of those players is still there at 8. Lambert is currently working on a post to identify some of the guys the Titans could be looking at with this pick.
*Don't believe anything you hear this time of year.
