A lot has happened with the Titans in the last 3 months. They have hired a GM and a coach. They released their longest tenured player in Michael Griffin. They have made some additions on both sides of the ball, but are they better than they were 3 months ago?
I don't think there is any doubt that the answer to that question is yes- and it starts at the top. Jon Robinson is off to a really nice start in his tenure as GM. He pulled off a really good trade with the Eagles for DeMarco Murray. There are a lot of people that don't like the deal, but it is a no lose for the Titans. He only gave up 11 spots in the draft to get a guy that is potentially one of the top 5 running backs in the league. The money is irrelevant because the Titans have plenty of it to spend.
Robinson also added WR Rishard Matthews and C Ben Jones to help the offense. Both guys should be starters from day 1 and are upgrades over the guys the team had last year.
The biggest move made on defense so far is the signing of safety Rashad Johnson. He is an upgrade over Griffin and will have plenty of motivation playing on a 1-year deal. They also added CBs Brice McCain and Antwon Blake to bolster the depth at the position.
Robinson has done nice work in his first few months on the job. A couple of solid draft classes and the Titans can be a perennial contender.
