2016 NFL Free Agency: Mario Williams is "waiting to be cut"

Tim Graham of The Buffalo News said this earlier today on Twitter:

Source tells me "Mario Williams just waiting to be cut, and the sooner the better" for him.

If you remember, the Titans were rumored to be in the mix for Williams's services when he was a free agent back in 2012. However, Bud Adams directed the Titans front office to go after Peyton Manning. They didn't get Manning, obviously, and Williams was signed by the Bills after never leaving Buffalo. Some people claimed the pursuit of Manning was why the Titans couldn't pursue Williams. I always thought that was crap because they could have gone after both at the same time, but whatever....

I doubt the Titans or Williams would have much interest in each other this time around. Mario is really a 4-3 end and is going to want to go to a contender.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
