Titans re-sign Craig Stevens

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans have re-signed tight end Craig Stevens to a 1-year deal according to John Glennon of the Tennessean. Stevens is a solid player. If the Titans are moving to a more smash mouth approach, which we all think they are under Mike Mularkey, Stevens is an important piece to that puzzle. Hooray for the first deal of the Jon Robinson era!

Oddly there was a lot of "WHY?" responses on Twitter the other day when I posted that the Titans were working on a deal with Stevens. I understand that he isn't the most exciting player on the team, but he is a talented player. The Titans don't have many of those, so it makes sense to lock up the ones they do have.

Stevens was a third-round pick of the Titans in 2008. He is known for his blocking but has 60 catches for 724 yards and 6 touchdowns in his career.
