The Titans need to be looking at every single offensive lineman in free agency- literally every.single.one. Today the New York Giants released (reportedly) G Geoff Schwartz and T Will Beatty. I asked Ed Valentine of Big Blue View for some thoughts on both guys. Here is what he had to say:
Geoff Schwartz is a good player, when healthy. Unfortunately, he really was never healthy in his two years with the Giants. He had a dislocated toe and then broken ankle and played only two games in 2014. Last year he was never fully 100 percent from the ankle, then suffered another leg fracture and missed the final five games. He's purely a guard at this point. Will Beatty is also a pretty good, but not elite, player. Missed all of 2015 with a torn pectoral and then a rotator cuff injury. Probably looking for left tackle money, but might not get it. Not a great player, but if he can play at his 2014 level he can still be a better than average tackle.
Obviously both guys have question marks, but if healthy, both would upgrade the Titans offensive line. Now by the time free agency rolls around they might not be the best options on the market, but Jon Robinson should be doing his due diligence on both guys now.
