Every week I get a handful of stats emailed to me from the people over at Pro Football Focus. I don’t love all of their stats, but they are a good measuring point for some positions. Cornerback is one of the positions where they do a pretty good job.
Here are two of the stats I got this morning from PFF:
You can believe that Jon Robinson is aware of these numbers. He knew this team needed corners coming into the season, but there is only so much you can do in one offseason. The number one priority heading into his first year as GM was protecting Marcus Mariota. He did that by adding offensive linemen and running backs.
The Titans still need a playmaker on the outside on offense, but they will spend a lot of resources this offseason on corners and inside linebackers. They could really use at least one starting corner and one starting inside linebacker. It would hurt to have 2 of each.
