Yesterday the Titans opened up a spot on their practice squad when they called up Kalan Reed after the surprising release of Perrish Cox. Today that filled that spot on the practice squad by signing D’Joun Smith.

Smith was a third round pick by the Colts back in 2015. He was waived by them this past summer. It was first thought to be because he couldn’t stay healthy, but there was apparently more to that story.

Titans GM Jon Robinson hasn’t made it a habit of bringing in guys that are problems off the field. He must have been assured by someone that he trusts that Smith has learned his lesson. I would imagine that getting cut in year 2 after being a third round draft pick would probably be a pretty good reality check.

Whatever the case, this is definitely a guy worth bringing in to take a look at for the last month of the season.
