That just might be my favorite headline in 10+ years here at Music City Miracles! I am sure the majority of you feel the same way. Anyway, there is not much doubt about what the Titans are going to do in the draft. They absolutely have to get at least 1 starting corner and possibly two. If the value is there, I wouldn’t be opposed to them using both of their first round picks on a corner.
Dan Kadar, in his latest mock draft, has them using both picks on defensive players from Alabama. The pick the Titans are getting from the Rams is all the way up to #7 (how in the world did they win 4 games??) He has the Titans taking Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama with that pick. His comments:
Humphrey looks like a star, but taking a corner from Alabama is a little bit scary. Guys like Dee Milliner and Dre Kirkpatrick looked great in Bama’s system, but they haven’t been great in the NFL. That doesn’t mean that Humphrey wouldn’t be. I would just think it would be a little bit tougher to evaluate him.
Kadar has the Titans taking Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama with the 14th pick. His comments:
A defensive line that featured Allen and Jurrell Casey would be a force. The Titans passed on Jalen Teez Tabor in this mock to take Allen. Tabor might be the most talented corner in the draft, but his history of issues off the field make it pretty likely that Jon Robinson would pass on him, in my opinion.
