As we have talked about before, the only way the Titans are getting in the playoffs is by winning the AFC South. That is still a long-shot at this point, but their chances were helped this week/weekend with the Colts loss on Thanksgiving and the Texans loss yesterday.
Here are the current AFC South Standings:
- Texans 6-5
- Titans 6-6
- Colts 5-6
- Jaguars 2-9
The Texans travel to Green Bay in week 13. It will be the Packers’ first home game in a month.
The Colts face the New York Jets on the road on Monday Night football. Can our old friend Ryan Fitzpatrick help us out?
The Titans really need to finish a game clear of both Houston and Indianapolis to win the division because division record is the 2nd tie breaker after head to head (which they would lose to the Colts but would be 1-1 against the Texans assuming a week 17 win). The Titans would be out on the division record because they can’t be the dang Colts.
As for the rest of the AFC, here is how the seeding sits currently:
- New England Patriots 9-2
- Oakland Raiders 9-2
- Baltimore Ravens 6-5
- Houston Texans 6-5
- Kansas City Chiefs 8-3
- Miami Dolphins 7-4
Here is what the NFC currently looks like:
- Dallas Cowboys 10-1
- Seattle Seahawks 7-3-1
- Detroit Lions 7-4
- Atlanta Falcons 7-4
- New York Giants 8-3
- Washington Redskins 6-4-1
