The Game: Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Line: Opened at Indy -3, movement to -2.5
The Titans — fresh off a huge win over the Green Bay Packers are set to head north to take on the Indianapolis Colts. This will be the second meeting between the two squads this year, with the Colts taking the win in the first contest.
This has been a series dominated by the Colts. In fact, the Titans haven’t beaten Indianapolis since 2011, when the team was without Peyton Manning and a year before Andrew Luck was drafted. Tennessee has yet to beat Luck.
Both the Titans and Colts enter this game coming off of wins against the Packers. The Colts beat the Packers in Green Bay and then got a bye week to rest up for this key divisional game. They sit at 4-5, but are within striking distance of the Texans at 6-3.
Indianapolis abused Tennessee’s secondary in Nashville earlier this season as Andrew Luck threw for 353 yards and three scores. T.Y. Hilton proved to be an issue, reeling in seven passes for 133 yards and a score. To be blunt, Tennessee just doesn’t have anyone that can contain him.
Offensively, the Titans put up a decent day’s work in the first matchup. DeMarco Murray was the center of the offense, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Mariota threw for two touchdowns, but delivered a back-breaking fumble that proved to be the difference in the game.
Tennessee’s offense has been white hot recently, scoring at least 26 points in their last six games. The defense hasn’t enjoyed the same success. They have given up 25, 35, 22, 26 and 26 points over their last five games, so expect a high scoring affair on Sunday.
The Pick: Indianapolis -2.5
The Titans last four games have alternated wins and losses, with their two wins coming at home. With this one being on the road and the Colts coming off a bye, I’d be surprised if the Titans came out on top of this one. They have the talent to do it, but can’t seem to deliver that final knockout punch to Andrew Luck.
Score Prediction: Colts 31, Titans 27
