Where do the Titans rank statistically through 10 weeks?

Some of these numbers are very impressive (and surprising).

Let’s take a look at where the Titans rank around the league in various statistical categories:

Offense

Yards per game

386.1 (6th)

Rushing yards per game

146.0 (3rd)

Passing yards per game

240.1 (21st)

Points per game

26.4 (8th)

Defense

Yards allowed per game

361.4 (17th)

Rushing yards allowed per game

93.7 (8th)

Passing yards allowed per game

267.7 (24th)

Points allowed per game

25.1 (22nd)

A few observations:

  • 3rd in the league in rushing. Smashmouth indeed!
  • The passing yards per game number would be higher if the Jaguars and the Packers could have kept pace. How many times have we been able to say that over the years??
  • The rushing defense is really only doing so well because the pass defense is so bad. Most teams will chose the path of least resistance. That is throwing the ball against the Titans.
  • The Titans are top 10 in the league in points. Maybe Lambert has a point....
