Titans knew the onside kick was coming

Mike Mularkey said they were calling it out from the sideline.

I asked this question yesterday on Twitter:

I’m still waiting for an answer to that question.

Mike Mularkey said at his press conference today that the Titans knew the onside kick was coming. He even said they were yelling it out from the sideline. That didn’t stop the Colts from recovering it after it hit Phillip Supernaw in the chest/shoulder.

There has to be a reason they keep Supernaw around, right? I just can’t seem to figure out what it is. Don’t give me the line about him being a good blocker. There are plenty of those guys out there they could find who wouldn’t commit the penalties on special teams.

Obviously Supernaw is a key ingredient to Mularkey’s “exotic smashmouth” approach. It just hasn’t become apparent which ingredient that is yet. Maybe we will find out this week when the Jaguars come to town, but then again, maybe not.
