Titans target report week 5: DeMarco Murray the receiver is a real thing

I can’t get over how good Murray is.

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans had their most efficient day in the passing game yesterday. Marcus Mariota completed 20 of his 29 passes on the day for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns. We should see more of that over the next month of the season as the Titans face some defenses that are pretty soft.

Delanie Walker led the team in targets again yesterday with 8. A 28% target share for Delanie seems about right. DeMarco Murray saw 6 targets yesterday. Mariota trusts him more than anyone in the offense outside of Delanie.

Rishard Matthews, Tajae Sharpe and Andre Johnson each saw 4 targets. Sharpe’s target share continues to go down, but that’s OK. He is going to be a nice secondary receiver for this team for a long time to come.

Kendall Wright and Anthony Fasano each saw 1 target. It was Fasano’s 1st target of the year- nothing to see here with either of these guys.

Target totals through week 5:

Tajae Sharpe 36

Delanie Walker 27

DeMarco Murray 27

Rishard Matthews 24

Andre Johnson 21

Harry Douglas 9

Jace Amaro 4

Derrick Henry 3

Kendall Wright 4

Phillip Supernaw 2

Jalston Fowler 1

Anthony Fasano 1
