Albert Breer of the NFL Network is reporting that the Titans are targeting Ravens assistant GM Eric DeCosta in their GM search. There have been a few teams that have tried to pry DeCosta away from the Ravens unsuccessfully. He would be a home run hire.
DeCosta has been with the Ravens since 1996. He is believed to be the successor to Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome. That is why he hasn't left to this point, but at some point he has to want the opportunity to be THE man. Newsome is only 59 years old. He probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
I know some in the national media would lead you to believe that the Titans general manager job isn't a very attractive one. With all due respect, that is a stupid narrative. There are only 32 of those jobs in the world. The Titans have a young franchise quarterback, the first pick in the draft and a ton of room under the salary cap. That sounds pretty good to me!
