Our friend Dan Kadar has put out a new mock draft this morning with a pick and 2 alternate options for each team. He had the Titans taking Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss. Again, we are going to see a lot of this between now and at least the start of free agency.
My hope is that the Titans follow the Frank Wycheck plan and sign 3 veteran lineman in free agency. That would allow them to go in another direction with the first pick. Here is what Kadar had to say about the pick:
Back to this pick for the Titans. It's just easier seeing Tunsil's fit on Tennessee than Bosa's. Does a Dick LeBeau defense really need that high of a pick to play end? Traditionally the answer has been no. There's also nothing wrong with adding a player who can keep Marcus Mariota upright.
The other options for the Titans were taking Joey Bosa and trading the pick. I am all in on trading the pick, but as always, that involves someone else wanting the pick. We should all be cheering for Jared Goff's stock right now!
I don't like Bosa as the top overall pick now that we know the Titans will be a 3-4 defense again in 2016. This is the same issue I had last year with Leonard Williams. Sure, sign me up in a 4-3, but unless he is JJ Watt, the value just isn't there at #1 overall for a 3-4 end.
