Report: Titans to Hire Jon Robinson as General Manager

Jason La Canfora finally got one right! He tweeted Wednesday night that Jon Robinson was the front runner to be the Titans new general manager. Robinson will be named the GM today according to Jason Wolf of the Tennessean.

Robinson will have a busy first few days on the job. He will now be charged with helping the ownership group and Steve Underwood find the Titans next head coach. Most people expect Josh McDaniels to be in the mix with Robinson's ties to New England. While Robinson comes to the Titans from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he spent most of his career with the New England Patriots.  You could do worse than hiring a guy from that organization.

Anything on McDaniels is just speculation at this point. What we do know is that the Titans have interviews with Mike Mularkey and Doug Marrone on Thursday and an interview with Teryl Austin on Friday. They wouldn't be able to talk to McDaniels until the Pats are eliminated, or the week before the Super Bowl if New England makes it that far....whichever comes first.

Interesting side note: Robinson is originally form Union City, TN.
