Tennessee Titans place RB David Cob on IR designated to return

Big news on promising Tennessee Titans rookie.

The Tennessee Titans just made a lot of moves in a short period of time. One of the biggest pieces of information that is being swept under the rug is that David Cobb has been put on short-term I.R.

Like the name says, this means that the Titans can call David Cobb back to the team after Week 8, so he would be able to play against starting vs the New Orleans Saints.

This is a huge factor in the Tennessee Titans trading for Terrance West. Both backs bring a physical presence and don't go down on first contact. With Antonio Andrews and Terrance West the Titans should have a good short yardage running game for the first time in a long time, and they are determined to correct their challenges there and in the redzone.

While this isn't trading for Adrian Peterson, he is an ideal fit for the RBBC style of offense with his tough running. However, when David Cobb comes back I would bet that his "wiggle" sets him apart and may ultimately lead to the Titans cutting West in favor of Cobb if everyone is healthy.

All in all, I think this is just a bump in the road for David Cobb and once he is back he will be the main focus of the running game. He can catch, run between the tackles, take it to the outside, and pass protect, he still seems like a very good prospect.

David Cobb had 19 rushes for 79 yards for 4.2 YPC.
