New Tennessee Titan: Steven Johnson

Meet the Tennessee Titans newest player.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans were second on the waiver wire today, and they made two significant pick ups. With the team weak at inside linebacker, cornerback and edge rusher the Titans made an effort to bolster two of those positions today.

The first addition to talk about is Steven Johnson.

Steven Johnson: ILB

College Team: Kansas

Former team: Denver Broncos

Experience: 4th year

Info:

-Primarily a special teams player for most of his career.

-Played less than 20 snaps on defense before last year.

-251 snaps last year on defense for the Denver Broncos.

-In his one game vs an AFC South opponent (the Indianapolis Colts) he ended up with 36 snaps and with a 1.4 PFF grade.Tallying five tackles and two solo stops.

His spot on the team:

Johnson will likely be the fourth linebacker on the team behind Avery Williamson, Zach Brown and Wesley Woodyard. Woodyard played with him in Denver in his time there, so if they are together in any sort of package they should have some chemistry together.

I really don't know a lot about him, but he played well against good opponents and he should be a better backup ILB than the Tennessee Titans had previously.
