The Titans stormed back to score 27 unanswered, but forgot how to play football in the fourth quarter. Mariota was sensational save for a poor INT in the 4th. The team surged back late to tie the game, but could not complete the tie as Fowler got rejected on the two point conversion attempt.
The Titans defense was excellent from quarters 1 thru 3, save for a Blidi Wreh-Wilson classic, but the Titans will kick themselves for giving in late. They will also rue their missed chance to put a TD on the board from one yard out after Zach Brown's INT of Luck.
Tennessee was the better team today, but they find themselves dropping to 1-2 heading into their BYE. Fans had to be sick by the end of it, but there were some positives to take away.
Mariota was sensational, and the Titans looked fluent on offense, mixing in a lot of different passing concepts and showing some versatility in the run game. Fowler will be remebered for the failed conversion, but he came up big multiple times against Indianapolis today, and looks to be a good short yardage option. We'll have to see how long he'll be out after the final play injury he sustained. Delanie Walker and Kendall Wright had very good outings as well, as did Dorial Green-Beckham, who should look to get more involved in the near future outside of just the red zone.
Perrish Cox left the game with an injury after a very good game.
It's a bitter finish to a team that looked like they would finally get over the hump the beat the Colts. But alas, it was not to be.
