Titans vs. Browns Thursday Injury Report: Josh McCown Expected Back Friday

What's the latest on Cleveland's quarterback status?

John Munson/NJ Advance Media for TODAY Sports

The Titans and Browns have released their injury reports for today's practices. While a lot of the names remain the same, Josh McCown's status has been updated. According to multiple reports, he is expected to be cleared and back at practice tomorrow. Browns' coach Mike Pettine said that "If McCown practices fully tomorrow I think we'd feel comfortable playing him," on Sirius Radio this morning. While Pettine says that McCown will be comfortable facing the Titans defense because it is similar to the Jets conceptually--"When you over-install for the opener and you're playing similar defensive styles Week 1 to Week 2 – there are a lot of plays that are up for this plan that he has already gotten multiple reps on. . .If this was a completely different plan and it wasn't this close to coming out of training camp, I think the situation would be different, but he's gotten quality reps on a lot of the elements of the plan that we have up,"--Titans fans have to feel good about the Browns starting a quarterback without practice reps for a week. We should have more clarity on McCown's status tomorrow or Saturday. The rest of the injury report is below:

QB Josh McCown- DNP (concussion)

RB Robert Turbin-DNP (ankle)

OLB Scott Solomon- DNP (ankle)

ILB Karlos Dansby- DNP (ankle)

OG Joel Bitonio- Limited (knee)

WR Dwayne Bowe- Limited (hamstring)

DE Desmond Bryant- Limited (shoulder)

DB Justin Gilbert- Limited (hip flexor)

QB Johnny Manziel- Limited (Rt. elbow)

TE Delanie Walker- DNP (hand)

CB Jason McCourty- DNP (groin)

DL Sammie Hill- DNP (knee)

RB Antonio Andrews- DNP (hamstring)

CB Cody Riggs- DNP (knee)

On the Titans side, nothing has changed from yesterday. Out of the group, Riggs seems most likely to play on Sunday, but he will have to at least be limited in practice tomorrow. On Cleveland's side, outside of McCown, Karlos Dansby's situation is one that should continue to be monitored. He missed practice again today, and is a very important piece for Cleveland's defense. For all of the injured players' statuses going into Sunday, check back tomorrow.
