Titans vs. Buccaneers Thursday Injury Report: Mike Evans Misses Another Practice

The Buccaneers' best offensive weapon is looking iffy for Sunday.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

With Mike Evans missing yet another practice this week, there is some very real doubt starting to set in as far as his status for Sunday. Buccaneers' head coach Lovie Smith did say that Evans was feeling "a whole lot better" he did concede that he does not necessarily need to play on Sunday. From Tampa Bay's perspective, it does not seem worth it to push Evans in week 1 of what will be a 17 week marathon. The full injury report is below:

WR Mike Evans (hamstring) – did not participate
DE T.J. Fatinikun (shoulder) – did not participate

CB Jason McCourty (groin) – did not participate
NT Sammie Lee Hill (knee) – did not participate
C Andy Gallik (illness) - limited
CB Perrish Cox (hip) - limited
RB Antonio Andrews (hamstring) - limited

As far as the rest of the injury report goes, there are a few new names on the Titans side. While Andrews' situation should be monitored--hamstrings can be tricky--it does not appear to be significant. Perrish Cox's name popping up is definitely alarming, considering the Titans lack of depth at cornerback. With Mike Evans possibly sitting out on Sunday, Cox's play against Vincent Jackson will be absolutely crucial. Titans fans should hope that he is full go. Tomorrow, both teams will release the statuses of the players going into Sunday (i.e. Probable, Questionable, etc.). Stay tuned for up to date information on the injury front.
