Tennessee Titans make their first round of cuts

According to the Tennessee Titans official website, the team has started making cuts. The players who did not make the team are:

LB Nate Askew

CB Will Brown

LB Dezmond Johnson

WR Tebucky Jones

WR Deon Long

DE Derrick Lot

G Justin McCray

K Mike Meyer

LB Chaz Sutton

C Fernando Velasco

It doesn't feel great to see Velasco go, especially when fans know how solid he can be and how bad Brian Schwenke is. However, it was hard to find a spot for him on the 53-man roster as it is. Tebucky Jones was a good story and I would have liked to see more from him, but again there were no real expectations for him.

Outside of that, there are not real surprises to this list although I am a little surprised by the lack of defensive linemen on this list. There will be a lot of OL/DL cuts come the deadline according to this list and this really doesn't help shine any light on who the Titans will keep.
