Between The Posts: Being Realistic

New, comments

The Titans enter 2015 with a heavy dose of reality settling in.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

If the last few years has taught Titans fans to be anything, its to be realistic (or as close to it as possible) when making predications about the squad's performance, record, stats, etc. The outside perception of this roster has probably never been lower, and that includes with Mariota and the rest of the rookie crop on board. There may be optimism building, as there rightly should be, but few outside the Tennessee state lines are ready to take the Titans as anything more than a cellar-dweller.

And that's probably for the best. You can't really blame them, after all. It will make every win, or surprising game that much more satisfying though. So in the spirit of realism, I am ready to enjoy this season for what it's worth. It may not be the year the Titans put it all together and make a playoff run (I sincerely doubt it), but the knowledge that this team is heading back in the right direction would be enough. So for all intents and purposes, the pressure is off for this squad. They may have a lot to prove, but nobody outside of STSP is holding their breath.

I think they make the most of it in 2015.
