Today we continue our series about the Tennessee Titans with a comparison of the running back position from 2014 to 2015. Did the Titans improve at running back? Let's take a look.
2014 RBs: Bishop Sankey, Shonn Greene, Dexter McCluster, Leon Washington, Antonio Andrews, Jackie Battle
2015 RBs: Bishop Sankey, David Cobb, Dexter McCluster, Antonio Andrews, Jalston Fowler
There was quite a bit of turnover on the roster at running back this offseason. The mistakes, Shonn Greene and Leon Washington, are gone. Cobb and Fowler were added in the draft. McCluster is still here and hopefully he will have a roll this season.
Did they improve?
Ken Whisenhunt will not be able to put Washington in as a running back. That is an improvement all by itself. But in all seriousness, the workload division between Sankey and Cobb is going to be something to watch. Sankey wasn't very good last year, but he was running behind a terrible offensive line. Cobb will push him and competition makes everyone better. There is no reason to believe the Titans won't be significantly better at running back than they were last year.
