Every year before training camp starts I do a projection of what the Tennessee Titans 53-man roster will look like when the season starts. I will do a new prediction each week based on what happens in the practices and preseason games. There probably won't be much of a change from week to week. There are probably only 3-5 roster spots that are really open for competition.
Here is my first shot:
OFFENSE
QB: Marcus Mariota, Zach Mettenberger, Charlie Whitehurst (3)
RB: Bishop Sankey, David Cobb, Antonio Andrews Jalston Fowler, Dexter McCluster (5)
WR: Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, Dorial Green-Beckham, Justin Hunter, Tre McBride (5)
TE: Delanie Walker, Craig Stevens, Anthony Fasano (3)
OL: Taylor Lewan, Jeremiah Poutasi, Byron Stingily, Byron Bell, Chance Warmack, Andy Levitre, Fernando Velasco, Brian Schwenke, Andy Galik (9)
DEFENSE
DL: Jurrell Casey, Ropati Pitoitua, DaQuan Jones, Karl Klug, Mike Martin, Al Woods, Sammie Hill, Angelo Blackson (8)
LB: Derrick Morgan, Brian Orakpo, Jonathan Massaquoi, Deiontrez Mount, Zach Brown, Avery Williamson, Wesley Woodyard (7)
CB: Jason McCourty, Perrish Cox, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Coty Sensabaugh (4)
S: Michael Griffin, Da'Norris Searcy, Daimion Stafford, Marqueston Huff (4)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
K: Ryan Succop (1)
P: Brett Kern (1)
LS: Beau Brinkley (1)
So that is only 51. I am having a tough time figuring out who gets the last 2 spots. One of the will probably go to Hakeem Nicks. That leaves one spot that probably goes to a corner- Cody Riggs gets the nod this week.
