Tennessee Titans rookie projections: Tre McBride

What should Titans fans expect from Trey McBride?

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

With preseason approaching and Tennessee Titans fans eager to see their team, it is important to remember that for the next two months the only real news will be how the rookies are learning and adapting to the NFL.

This is what I expect right now from Tre McBride.

Games Started: 0

Games Played: 8

Between Dorial Green-Beckham, Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, Justin Hunter, and maybe even Hakeem Nicks it will be hard to earn playing time on this team at wide receiver.

While I think he is better than (the 2014 version of) Hakeem Nicks and he has a potential to be much more consistent than Justin Hunter, I think it will take four or so games before we even see McBride take the field. However, his style of play meshes well with what the Titans need and if he can adjust to the ball and contest catches like he did in college then he could earn some good time on the field.

Stats: 250 snaps, 25 receptions, 325 yards, 2 touchdown

I like Tre McBride and really think that he can be very good for the Titans, in year two. In year one, it just makes too much sense that he will take all of the snaps left behind by Derek Hagan. Now, I believe he will be more productive than Hagan (19 rec., 254 yards, 1 TD), but I think his real boom will be if/when Nicks is gone and he is competing outright with Hunter and Douglas for the #3 job.
