It is officially 82 days until the season starts. My goal going forward is going to be to have a post each day that highlights a guy who wore the uniform number of how many days are left until kickoff for the Titans. Today we continue with #82, Delanie Walker.
There weren't many bright spots in the 2014 season, but Walker was one. He should have made the Pro Bowl after catching 63 passes for 890 yards and 4 touchdowns. The low TD number, and the fact that he plays for the Titans, are the only things that are keeping him from being talked about as one of the best tight ends in the league.
Walker is such a valuable player because he is a good blocker in addition to being a good receiver. There aren't many tight ends left that excel in both areas.
Some other interesting names for #82: Eddie Berlin and Hamstring Thigpen. Derrick Mason also wore #82 for the 1997 season with the Oilers.
