Taylor Lewan joined The Wake Up Zone on 104.5 The Zone here is Nashville this morning. He was asked, of course, about his initial impressions of Marcus Mariota. Here is what he had to say:
Everyone wants to talk about how he's introverted and doesn't want to talk to people, but he has held a great conversation with me every time I have been around him. He openly comes up to me, other guys, hangs out plays cards with us. On the field, only being here for a couple of days, he is way more comfortable than I was in the huddle this time last year. He's been throwing the ball well- making his right keys. There's obviously going to be growing pains learning a new offense and all of that, but I have been impressed so far.
It's hilarious to me that people are so concerned about Mariota's demeanor. He was obviously a leader while he was at Oregon. I really don't understand why it would be any different in the NFL- especially if he plays well.
Lewan is a really good interview. The Titans have been desperate for guys that can be the face and voice of the organization. Lewan can be one of those guys.
Listen to his full interview from this morning here. The Wake Up Zone, hosted by Kevin Ingram, Mark Howard and Frank Wycheck, airs every morning from 6 AM - 10 AM on 104.5.
