The Tennessee Titans announced today that they are to part ways with former Jets running back Shonn Greene. Greene never found his stride in Tennessee, and not all of that is his fault. That said, he never lived up to the billing, and couldn't fulfill his specialized role all that well. There was little doubt this move was coming, and the team is making the right call. Close to the cap or not, you can't afford to keep $3 million of mediocrity (or worse) on the roster.
The Titans also made it known that caretaker at the board, Steve Underwood, will remain president through the 2015 season. It seems like the team is willing to wait to find the right candidate for the job, and it's equally pleasing that they are confident enough in Underwood not to rush any big moves.
So some positive vibes in Tennessee today; addition by subtraction.
