It was reported last night that Zach Mettenberger would ask to be traded if the Tennessee Titans drafted Marcus Mariota. They did, but apparently that report was not true, at least according to Mett's agent via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Joe Linta, agent for Zach Mettenberger, told me his client doesn’t want to be traded. Just wants to compete with Marcus Mariota for the job</p>— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/594192040008818688">May 1, 2015</a></blockquote>

I understand that Mettenberger was frustrated when the Titans picked Mariota, but to ask for a trade is laughable. He is just one year removed from being a 6th round pick and was 0-6 as a starter in his rookie year. Now, that record doesn't necessarily reflect his level of play because the talent around him was so bad, but even with that being said, it's not like there are going to be teams lining up to acquire him.
Zach would be well served to come in, work hard and try to beat Mariota out in camp.
