Mel Kiper has released his last mock draft for 2015 (In$ider). This time he did a "why they take him" and "why they pass" for each pick. Unsurprisingly, he has the Tennessee Titans taking Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon. I still get the feeling that Kiper doesn't believe the Titans are going to take Mariota, but he is slotting Mariota as the pick because he believes someone will in the spot. I feel the same way, Mel.
Here is what Kiper had to say about the pick:
Why they take him: It will be because they don't have a perfect trade offer OR a solid long-term solution at QB and can see that Mariota has all the skills to become a very good NFL QB if given time.Why they pass: The trade offer comes, they get a ton of value and are willing to build around Zach Mettenberger. There's no doubt about: This is an obvious trade spot and it won't surprise anyone if they aren't making the pick.
