So Paul Kuharsky has a source that says Jameis Winston would be in play for the Tennessee Titans with the second pick if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don't take him with the first pick. This report is not surprising to me. I have said all along that Winston is a better fit for Ken Whisenhunt's offense than Marcus Mariota. There is no doubt in my mind that the Titans would be taking Winston had the Bucs not tanked the last game of the season.
I don't want the Titans to end up with Winston. That doesn't mean that I don't think he ends up being a good NFL quarterback, but there is just too much risk with that guy. He has impressed everyone throughout the draft process. He knows the game of football and is good at playing it, but that was also true while he was doing all of the dumb stuff at Florida State. Kuharsky always says that money makes you more of who you already were. That doesn't bode well for what will happen to Winston when he gets paid.
So with all of that being said, please Tampa, just go ahead and take Winston.
