Tennessee Titans lose a free agent to Jacksonville Jaguars

Why this one hurts a little.

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Stefen Wisniewski visited the Tennessee Titans a few weeks ago, but it looks like he will be joining another AFC South team.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed the talented young center yesterday in free agency, which is tough to swallow because he could have helped this offensive line a lot. Here is the report from Adam Schefter:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Jaguars agreed on a 1-year deal with former Raiders C Stefan Wisnewski, per league source.</p>&mdash; Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/589471456620326912">April 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

Now, while I for one really wanted the Titans to make this move to upgrade their offensive line, Mike Garafalo (who knows the behind the scenes information) said there is a reason why a deal took so long.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>C Stefen Wisniewski&#39;s deal with the Jaguars is one year at $2.5 million, source says.</p>&mdash; Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) <a href="https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/589480353947058176">April 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Wisniewski&#39;s free agency affected by shoulder surgery. 1-year deal w/ Jax (who tried to nab Alex Mack last yr) gives him shot to reset value</p>&mdash; Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) <a href="https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status/589481264308166656">April 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

If the Titans checked him out and decided that the shoulder was too big of an issues (which other teams presumably thought, though not namely the Titans) then I can live with that. However, if this is a situation where they just didn't pull the trigger even though they wanted him then that is a shame considering the key pieces in place with this offensive line.

However, maybe I shouldn't be to hard on the Titans. If the most talked about trade of this offseason happens then the Titans might want some cap wiggle room for an extension.
