Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota Wonderlic Scores Leaked

The quarterbacks at the top of the 2015 NFL Draft are pretty sharp cookies.

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Yahoo! Sports has multiple sources reporting that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston scored a 27 on the Wonderlic test that is administered at the NFL Combine.  Winston is definitely immature, but he isn't dumb.  In fact, most people that have spent time around Winston talk about how high is football IQ is.  I am not sure if you know this or not, but that is fairly important for an NFL quarterback.

This SB Nation article also says that Marcus Mariota scored a 33 on the test.  That is also very impressive.

Of course, as the Yahoo! article mentions, high Wonderlic scores are not necessarily an indicator of success in the NFL.  Blaine Gabbert scored a 42 on the test.

At this point, I would be shocked if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don't take Winston with the first pick.  There has been some movement lately that they might be considering Mariota, but that isn't going to happen.  Now what happens at #2 is still anybody's guess.

Philip Rivers scored a 30 on the test before he was drafted.  You know, in case you were wondering.
