Report: Titans have kicked the tires on Cary Williams

The Titans have struggled early in drafts, but they have always been good at finding defensive backs who can play later in drafts.  Back in 2008, they selected Cary Williams with a 7th round pick.

While they were good in initially identifying the talent of Williams, they failed in figuring out how to use that talent.  Williams was released by the Titans after the 2008 season.  He went on to find success in Baltimore with the Ravens, and then signed a pretty healthy free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles before the 2013 season.

His time in Philadelphia was, well, interesting (more on that here), but there is no doubt that he would be an upgrade over Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Coty Sensabaugh.  As Wyatt mentioned, Williams still has a house here, so we can assume that he would be open to talking with the Titans.

Would he be willing to sign here for a little bit of a discount?  I don't know, but it would be nice.  This is probably a place where they could upgrade the defense and not spent a lot of money.  That, my friends, is a win, win, win.
