Randy Gregory failed his drug test at the NFL combine

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Nebraska's Randy Gregory, who has been mocked to the Tennessee Titans in quite a few mock drafts, tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Combine.  It blows my mind that guys keep failing a drug test that they know is coming, but it happens every single year.  Gregory took full responsibility for the failed test in an interview with the NFL Network:

"I blame myself," Gregory said. "And I know it sounds cliché, but there's really no one else I can blame."

I do respect that.  So many of these guys try to pass the blame on someone else.  It is at least refreshing to see him own it.

The only reason this is really a big deal is because a player who fails the test at the combine already has one strike against them.  They are entered into the program, tested more often, and one step closer to getting a suspension.  I really couldn't care less if a guy wants to smoke weed or not until it keeps him off the field.

It will be interesting to see what this does to Gregory's stock.  He has been a top 5-7 player in almost every mock that I have seen.  It would be awesome if this would take him all the way out of the first round and the Titans could snag him at 33.  That isn't going to happen, but hey, I can dream.
